Alphabet Street

Alphabet Street

By Jonathan Emmett

This is the book we’ve gotten the most mileage out of. We got it when Elise was 5 months old and use to spread it out in front of her during tummy time. It’s written by an architect and I love how it’s laid out to reflect a typical British high street with shops on the bottom and residential above. The graphic style was particularly appealing to her when she was littler. Her Dad would read it out and leave the last word for her to complete. He did this instinctively but I’ve read it’s a good way to encourage speaking. So she knows the last word for each letter - her memory is definitely better than ours!
